A man recognized as Okotete Philip was beaten to by angry youths for allegedly raping a 15-year-old girl in Sapele, Delta State.
It was reported that the suspect, who is said to be a sports coach, dragged the victim to the back of Glory Baptist Church at Gana area of Sapele on Monday, January 25, where he sexually assaulted her.
According to findings, he had been promising the girl that he will take her out of the country, make her travel round the world and make her as popular as Nigerian track and field athlete, Blessing Okagbare.
After the suspect was questioned and beaten up by the angry youths, he was then handed over to the local vigilante group for further punishment.
