Peter Obi will do well as a Minister of Economy, he doesn’t have the structure, Igbos are not ready for presidency – Ned Nwoko

Nigerian Politician, Ned Nwoko has expressed his thoughts about former Governor of Anambra state, Peter Obi’s participation in the forthcoming governorship election under Labour Party’s platform.

Ned, the husband of Nollywood actress, Regina Daniels, said that Peter Obi is not like other Governors he has met in the past as he’s quite frugal and a big-time capitalist.

According to an interview with BBC Igbo, Ned said he would like Peter Obi to come back to the Peoples Democratic Party as he will do well as a Minister of Economy and will also help the economy bounce back.

Ned further averred that though Peter Obi is popular and might have a support base, he doesn’t have the structure to function as he would need the majority in either house of reps or senate, state house of assemblies and government.

Ned said;

”Peter Obi is a good man and has impressed me. When he came to London he came alone. He’s a capitalist and a big-time player in the business world and conservative in the way he handles things.

”I’ll like him back in PDP, he’ll do well as Minister of Economy, he’ll help us turn around Nigeria’s economy.

“Labour Party does not have the structure to win but they have a support base. He’s a popular candidate but cannot become president because he does not have the structure. As a president, you must have the majority of Labour Party in the House of Representatives and Senate.

“Many things in Nigeria will work against the emergence of a president under Labour party, It wouldn’t happen.”

Ned Nwoko added that Peter Obi should not have left the Peoples Democratic Party, and hoped that he returns.
