The Christian Student Fellowship which is an interdenominational fellowship for all Christian students under the umbrella of Olabisi Onabanjo University Consult, Abeokuta study centre outshine their opponent in the Ahmed Bello Otaru Tournament organized by the Pentecostal fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) Ogun state chapter .
However, luck wasn’t in their side as they lost 1-0 to their rivals due to some little errors made by the goal keeper which could have been averted.
An interview conducted with the CSF OOUC FC team manager , Mr Nosiru Jeremiah O. stated that the sole aim of venturing into the tournament is to display individual soccer skills thereby enhancing the good projection of the school’s image at the state level.
He further encouraged the players not to relent or give up in their defeat and urge them to work hard in the next tournament.
The coach however blamed the referee officials for being bias in officiating the match. In his words
“Our loss was due to the inappropriate outcome of the referee’s decision, where we had two clear penalties which the referee refused to award,the loss was so disheartening but we all have to prepare harder for the next tournament, to my players, I’ve encouraged them to see this ‘NO’ which means NO favourable OUTCOME, not as a disappointment but as a means of preparing harder for our NEXT OPPOURTUNITY…
Speaking exclusively to Leak Secret, the Capital of the team, Odondighi Blessing praised the team’s effort and highlighted some errors they made and geared his team mates not to feel bad about the loss, rather see it as a challenge and part of life’s lesson.
The match which was played in Abeokuta Grammar School Sport Complex, Idi-aba, Abeokuta, ogun state attracted lots of onlookers as fans took to their drumming and shouting to cheer their teams
