Many Nigerian graduates can’t read or write, Minister of Education says

Minister of Education, Malam Adamu, has communicated worry about the decrease in the standard of education in the nation.

Adamu, who talked in Yola, Adamawa State, during the official appointing of completed projects in the college, said a number of graduate can neither read nor write in an tolerable way.

The minister who was represented by the Director of Tertiary Education in the Federal Ministry of Education, Hajia Rakiya Gambo Iliyasu said the circumstance was a reason for concern, adding that understudies and educators need to sit up and face their tasks decisively if the circumstance is to be reversed.

“Some graduates of tertiary institutions across the country cannot read or write applications,” he said.
