President Buhari has cautioned that anyone associated with tallying station grabbing amid the February 23rd and March sixth general decisions will pay with his or her live.
Talking at an All Progressives Congress (APC) Caucus meeting in Abuja on Monday morning, February eighteenth, President Buhari said that an unlawful demonstration, for example, poll grabbing won’t go on without serious consequences. He included that he has given the police and the military directions to be heartless with anybody that would need to cause inconvenience at surveying units.
I have briefed the law enforcement agencies. They have identified hotspots and flashpoints. They too should be prepared to move. They too must have made their arrangements as much as possible.
Anybody that decides to snatch boxes or lead thugs to the polling units may be the last unlawful action he will take.
I have told the military and the police to be ruthless. We are not going to be blamed that we want to riug elections. I want Nigerians to be respected. Let them go to wherever they want across the parties. I am not afraid. I have gone to the 36 states and Abuja. I think I have gotten enough support across the country to look after me.
I am going to warn anybody who thinks he has enough influence in his own locality to lead a body of thugs to snatch boxes or to disturb the voting system, he will do it at the expense of his own life” he said
