A major Gorilla in the Kano Zoological Gardens has apparently gulped N6.8 million implied for the tasks of the zoo. The cash was created from travelers who visited the zoo during the Eid festivities.
On Monday June tenth when specialists continued work, it was found that the cash was mysteriously gone.
A neighborhood radio station in the state, Freedom Radio had provided details regarding Thursday June thirteenth that one of the fund officers it talked with had said that one immense Gorilla sneaked into their office and purportedly gulped the near seven million naira.
Affirming the loss of the cash, the Managing Director of the zoo, Umar Kashekobo, said in fact there was cash missing in the association yet that he would preferably not utter a word about it as the issue was under scrutiny.
”The issue is under examinations until further notice and I would prefer not to say anything concerning the issue. Numerous columnists have met me on the issue however I would prefer not to say anything. Everything I can to say is that the cash got missing.”
Remarking on the issue, the representative in the state police direction, DSP Abdullahi Haruna, said the issue was under scrutiny.
” Yes the facts demonstrate that cash got missing from the Kano Zoo. It is cash they understood for five days of Sallah celebrations. As at now, we have captured 10 staff individuals from the Zoo and they are in police CID. Among the general population we captured are the gatemen and the general population in the money unit. What we need to comprehend is the reason they left such gigantic measure of cash for five days without counting on it,” Haruna said
This case is the same than the one that occurred in February 2018 when one Philomena Chieshe, a business representative with the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) in Benue state, had asserted that a gigantic snake gulped N36m, which the board produced using clearance of scratch card.
