
11 National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) individuals have tested positive for Covid -19 in Taraba State Orientation camp.
Taraba State Commissioner of Health, Innocent Vakkai who uncovered this while instructions writers in Jalingo, said the corps individuals are asymptomatic and are reacting to treatment at a confinement place in the state.
Vakkai uncovered that the corps individuals were tried dependent on the orders by the Nigeria Center for Disease Control (NCDC) that all individuals from the plan should be tested on arrival at various orientation camps.
He said;
βSo as part of the guidelines of the presidential task force on COVID-19 on the control of COVID-19 in Nigeria, they asked every state to carry out mass testing of all corps members present in camps and in Taraba state eleven corps members tested positive, but all of them were asymptomatic, that is to say, they are not showing symptoms.
βSince they are positive, the onus lies on the health authorities to ensure that they were quarantined.
βBased on the information I have so far received, they are all doing well and will soon reunite with their family as the camp closes.”
The commissioner likewise expressed sadness with the lack of compliance to the security measures by occupants of the state to decrease network transmission, which he said may prompt a hazardous circumstance.
